Heavy duty Stainless Steel grill with detachable handles and Easy Chef bars
Not only do Black Knight use some of the thickest steel bars in the brick barbecue market for their grills, they also run from front to back instead of side to side.
So what??
Grill bars running from side to side make it really difficult for the chef to use a spatula to move the food unless you approach it sideways which means having your arm over the heat. Easy Chef front to back bars make cooking easier and make it far less likely that food will be forced between the bars whilst cooking. A small change that makes a big difference.
Strengthened and interlocking Charcoal Grid - for increased stability and airflow
Our charcoal grid is made using strong 4mm and 5mm bars and 'locks' in to the ash tray so that both parts keep each other on the straight and narrow and support each other through the intense heat of the charcoal. The charcoal grid and the ashtray form a 'box' which helps to keep hold of the ash when it drops through.
Deep Ashtray For Better Charcoal Performance
Our ash tray is pressed out of 1mm thick sheet metal. This may not sound much but it is almost twice as thick as the industry standard. The ashtray stands over 5.5cms deep to create really good airflow to the charcoal to keep it burning evenly and hot whilst being deep enough to hold the ash efficiently and away from the cooking area
Black Knight we try to avoid using metal plates to hold the barbecue in place. Metal can corrode - especially when it is left outside and set fire to on a regular basis! If we have to use plates we make sure they can take the pace but our traditional brick surrounds feature 3 layers of bricks turned sideways, to create a strong, long lasting, and corrosion-free shelf for the metal parts to rest on as an alternative to metal plates.
